Outtakes and More

A week ago today I took an extended family's pictures, ten adults and seven small children. The only granddaughter of the bunch had had it with pictures, but her momma really wanted at least one of all three of her children. Setting her down and taking off didn't work....

Even having her mom lay down with her wouldn't coax her into hanging around for any pictures. :)

But finally, at the promise of a snack and the chance to be on top of the stack, she gave us a smile and held still for one decent shot!

Whew! It's not perfect, but it'll do. The two tiniest members of the family were so cute and such good natured little guys!

Gorgeous blue eyed Baze...sorry, not for sure how old he is, but I think he's around five months or so.

Precious 1 month old Brauner....

I think I've said this before, but I'll say it again, inside photography is NOT my thing and I don't care to figure it out (except for the newborns) at this point in my life. However, this poor shoot kept getting pushed back later and later in the year till it was just too cold to take these little ones outside. So I did a search in our local small town and came up with this collage union building. It had great lighting, but it takes someone to know how to utilize it correctly and I'm not that person. So here is the best of what I got.

This is the rest of the family, well almost the rest. The couple who started it all asked that their pictures not be shared so here's the siblings and their families/spouses.

The oldest daughter,

second daughter and a dear friend that I grew up with...just wish she hadn't moved out of state,

oldest son,

and youngest son/baby of the family. :)

Thanks to this great family for being so patient with me as I muddled my way through it! :)

Any critical comments would be lovely! It'd be great to hear some feedback or advice on what I could've/should've done differently!

A Fresh New Start

I decided to just scrap my old blog, with it's many malfunctioning issues and start all over again. Hopefully this one will work better and I'll actually have a "follow" button for anyone who'd like to use it! For those of you who maybe haven't "met" me, this blog is to follow my journey as a hopefully budding photographer. I've loved photography for a long time, but only within this past year have I gotten a quality camera and the fun has begun! I love sharing my pictures and hopefully you'll enjoy seeing them and together maybe we'll see some improvement over time!

Just to catch you up, from my previous blog, I've only done one sibling set, one engagement, one senior, one wedding, one family of five (three small children), four newborns, and a large extended family (10 adults and 7 small children) to date. For the sake of time I'm only going to post some pictures from my latest completed session, a newborn. Awwwww, they just melt my heart! I'm thinking this is the main direction I'm headed in!

Anyway, meet Asia, a beautiful 13 day old who's mother is from the U.S. and her father is from Haiti....talk about genes! I'd love to have her complexion!!!

All my newborns have been awake at some point during the session and it's not been the ideal situation, but she was an absolute dream! Talk about a calm baby!!! Most newborns are constantly moving their hands, arms, legs, etc. when awake, but not this little Miss. She would just lay completely still for the longest time, it was awesome!

Only at the very end did she finally fall asleep and I was so thrilled to have captured a precious smile from her dreams!

For anyone who may be meeting me for the first time and want to check out my old posts/pictures, I'll leave my previous blog open for a week or so. You can check it out here http://blessedwithfiveboys.blogspot.com/ and please don't mind the mess! :)
