Breaking the Silence

It's been a long time....too long actually. I have much to share and not enough time, but today my final birthday package arrived and I can no longer wait till I have loads of free time! ...ok, that'll never be! So this will be quick and to the point, but I really hope that sometime this week I can fill you in on all the other things that have been happening around here. It may take me several days to get that accomplished, but it's a goal for this week. :)

This has probably been one of the most blessed birthdays I've had in a long time! I am so grateful that my hubby has showered me with gifts even after I said, "Just send me on the Peru mission trip." (More on that to come.) Two amazing things I got were a polarizer filter and a lightscoop.

For $30 you just can't go wrong with buying a lightscoop, unless you have high ceilings, then it probably won't do you much good. Adorama was having a sale though and I got mine for only $20! Total steal for the results. While I don't have it fine tuned, here are the results I got the very first night after getting it. (Sorry bro! Ha!)




































I can't believe how much more natural looking it is with the lightscoop! Amazing! This next one was taken in a dark room lit with only the small lamp.

So, so cool!

Next up, a polarizing filter. Pricey? Yep, like ouchy kind of pricey, at least for just a little thin piece of glass, but if it knocks out some photoshoping, worth every hard earned penny!!! Check it out....

Is that not incredible or what? Sorry I didn't take the time to put my camera on a tripod and get the exact same shot, but I think these are close enough you can get the idea. The two pictures on the left are approximately the same scene and the polarizer was on the bottom so it popped the green bean field. The pictures on the right, I rotated the polarizer so it was at the top of my frame and wow did it ever pop the blue sky! Oh how I wish I'd had this in time for yesterday's senior shoot! The sky was just as amazing then too and obviously our cameras need a little help getting the real deal!
